Something Else I Miss

Another cartoon that I greatly miss is Calvin & Hobbes....ah the simple story of a boy and his tiger! One of my all time favorites is when Calvin snuck out of the house in the middle of the night, walked to a payphone, called home and announced the time and asked "Do you know where I am?" And I loved the snow creatures that they would make to greet Dad at the end of a long day at work! Simple proof that with a good imagination there is no limit to the places you can go.

I loved Calvin and Hobbes too...one of my very favourites.

I loved Hobbe's phiosophical musings and Calvin's run-amuck imagination.

I so loved Calvin & Hobbes! I miss them too. Do you read/get Frazz where you are? I often suspect Bill Waterson writes that under a psudeonym. And Frazz looks like a grown-up Calvin.

I was very mucha Calvin growing up. Not so much for getting in trouble but for living in my imagination and acting it out. I had my own Hobbes too.

spider girl: They were such a great combination! I guess that is why I miss them so much!

blackcrag: Sigh...no Frazz, but I might have to see if I can find it somewhere. I think I still have his imagination sometimes! I can sometimes get quite lost in my thinking and pondering and story telling!

Calvin and Hobbes has such a strong following, it seems. So sad that Bill Waterson stopped writing them. Do you know if he has done anything else after C&H?

I have all the books! :-)

Linny: I'm with you on that! It would be nice for life to be so easy and carefree.

Missy: I don't know what he went on to do...but I'd like to think so...otherwise it would be a terrible waste.

Calvin & Hobbes was priceless. Part of me mourns it's passing, but I'm glad he left it at the top - some strips seem to go on way beyond the point where the humour has ended.
