Solitude

When I come to this place of quiet,
of blessed solitude,
to the universe I bare my soul,
and carried upon the stars,
I can see forever,
the infinite promise,
the never ending horizon,
all that ever can be;
I come into the calm,
the center of the storm,
dwell in peace,
a silent witness,
to the beauty unfolding
within by being,
that which is me,
seamless with eternity.

Hi Hope

"Finding ones center"

I think I'm somewhat left of center...or was that right of center?? I find that since I've started this blog, that I've reopened my creative valve so to speak. It is so easy to get trapped in the "chaos" of day to day that one loses touch with a lot of things. Thanks for visiting my little blog and for all the feedback!

I love the line "seamless with eternity", which so accurately expresses that state of mind I try to achieve with yoga.

Try, mind you. :)

Dear Hope

Thanks so much for your wonderful comments on my photos.

You of all the people commenting have really understood my Moments project, which is to share a peaceful feeling around the world, with photos and words.

Your poems really bring them to life and I was hoping that someone would feel this way about them.

Also, I really like the creative mix on Controlled Chaos too, especially this poem. I too am aiming at feeling eternity in daily life- not to be washed around by the currents of the moment, but rather to focus on what matters most, moment to moment. I think that this is what true, perennial happiness is all about.

It looks like we are after something similar, each in our own ways- and it makes me really happy to find someone else on the same path!

With Love,

Gideon

Hi Hope

Not to mess with any artists creations or anything. I think it would be interesting to see some of your poems superimposed on top of Gideons pictures. Your poem "Winter" would fit nicely on his photo of the ice. Just and idea, feel free to tell me to "go get stuffed" if you don't like it...:)

Kimber: At least you try! I think that is often more important than achieving. And when you look at the world around you, you can see how much the world is really missing the effort of more people trying.

Gideon: Thank you!! I love the photos on your blog and they do so inspire me. And I'm so pleased that you've appreciated the tidbits that I've added to your site. My blog has become such an outlet for me and I never really know what is going to come out or how people are going to react to it. So for me, this is such a blessing.

Dagoth: I think it's a wonderful idea! I think it's foolish to think that all our creativity comes soley from within ourselves with nothing from the world and people around us!

All: Thank you so much for visiting my little corner of the world and for all your feedback. You have no idea how much it means to me!

Hope-

I think Dagoth's idea is a great one. I am more than happy for you to use, or as I prefer to say "bring to life" my pictures this way.

You can download screen-sized versions of them from my galleries at Flickr-

Also please feel free to drop me a line at davidsongideon@hotmail.com if you want to talk about this idea more!

I would be both thrilled and honored to combine some of my poems with your pictures! I may need some assistance as my techno savvy is lacking in a place or two!
